What They Do
Agri-Industrial Plastics Company (AIP) is a custom plastics blow molder specializing in the engineering and production of large parts. The parts they produce come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and finishes with one thing in common - all are made according to their customers' specifications. Throughout the blow molding process, they provide their customers unparalleled expertise from the design phase through production.
History
Agri-Industrial Plastics Company (AIP) was founded in 1978 by Richard K. Smith. At its inception, the company started out with 4 employees, one blow molding machine, and one customer. From the start, the company was guided by the principles of providing high quality blow molded solutions and putting the customer first. These same values continue to be at the heart of AIP today.
Today
Since opening its doors in 1978, Agri-Industrial Plastics Company (AIP) has experienced steady and significant growth. Today they have 21 production blow molding machines and a 185,000 square foot facility. The business growth at AIP is attributed to an ever-evolving customer base looking for a partner in innovation through blow molding. Their long-term success also belongs to the employees who are committed to producing quality products in a positive work environment.
Today at AIP, you will see blow molded parts of every shape, size, and color. These products represent the innovative spirit that continues to thrive at AIP. The innovation starts with the customer's idea for a product and becomes a reality through the experience in blow molding offered at AIP from engineering through production. They don't just produce blow molded parts; they provide unparalleled expertise in blow molding. |
The Future
AIP's vision for the future is to continue offering their customers unparalleled quality and service in the blow molding arena. As always, this includes providing state of the art production facilities along with the latest innovations in plastics technology to support their customers' requirements.
In 2005, AIP added the most advanced production machine on the market to its lineup. The SIG Kautex 6-layer co-extrusion blow molding machine provides state of the art technology and optimized blow molding capabilities. This machine is specifically applicable to producing gas tanks covered under the new EPA regulation titled “Control of Emissions from Recreational Engines and Vehicles” (effective for model year 2008). Vehicles included under the regulation include ATV's, snowmobiles, and off-highway motorcycles. With the purchase of the Sig Kautex co-extrusion blow molding machine, AIP will be uniquely positioned in the industry to service this segment of the fuel tank market. AIP's timing of the installation will coincide with the 56 weeks of testing required by the EPA to certify new model tanks. With that in mind, AIP is already working with several customers in the design and engineering phase for such tanks.
They look forward to the next 25 years and to the innovative product ideas that will continue to drive their business. Most of all, they look forward to serving their customers by providing them access to a professional staff, state of the art production facilities, and unmatched experience in the blow molding field. |
